I'm finding out what Moses said in this verse is so very true! The Bible is not just words but LIFE!
"They are not just idle words for you--they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess." ~Deuteronomy 32:47

The Finish Line

Sam had the last of his 28 treatments today! He will have his CT Scan in about 3 weeks and we will get the results a few days after. Dr. Sholar said she thinks the scan will be "icing on the cake" since his marker levels dropped almost to the normal range after surgery and were in the normal range after the first cycle. Our prayer is that he will have an absolute clear scan!

Right now all his blood counts are super low. He actually got a little light headed when they were drawing his blood this morning. Pray that the blood counts come back up quickly and NO infection in the meantime.

The doctor also said he could go back to work! He is so ready to go back. He's scheduled to go back tentatively April 2nd. This will be a hard adjustment for all of us.

Testicular Cancer--I hope I don't offend or embarrass anyone but I haven't really talked about the cancer and I feel I need to. Not much is said about testicular cancer. I mean us girls are told to self examine early in life by our doctor and ads all the time. Sam was NEVER told by a doctor to check himself. And trust me the "boys" are to men just as important as the "ta-tas" are to us girls.

So here is my PSA (Public Service Announcement) from my roots in journalism. Testicular cancer is the leading cancer in men ages 15 to 35. In this age group, more men will die of testicular cancer than women of breast cancer. Every hour a male is diagnosed with testicular cancer. Approximately 8,290 new cases will arise in 2011 alone. 1 out of 270 men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer. Approximately 350 deaths will occur in 2011. If detected early, testicular cancer is the most curable cancer. Testicular cancer has a very fast onset. If not detected early, the cancerous tumors can grow rapidly with the ability to double in size in just 10 to 30 days. The KEY is EARLY detection and SELF EXAMINATION.

Men, wives, mothers of teenage sons PLEASE encourage your boys to check their "boys." Save your life. Self exam. For more information visit:
