Cycle 3

Sam checked back in to Hotel de Iredell for his 5 day 4 night stay. This time he got a really high tech bed they can lay flat and weigh him! All kidding aside . . . Cycle 3 started yesterday. His white blood count was only back up to 2.7 and his ANC was down to 747.9. So he is still at a moderate risk for infection. He has been super fatigued yesterday and today.

I spent a good part of the day yesterday at the hospital and was able to go back last night. When the kids and I got home and I put Nora down she started calling out "Da" and looking for Sam (insert heart break here)! Bless her. So tonight I took them to the hospital for a few minutes to see "Da". Tomorrow night and Thursday we will Skype with "Da" which Nora still doesn't quite get! I know she is probably thinking why is "Da" on TV talking to me? :)

I gave the kids their Valentine gifts over the weekend when Sam was here. But in all the craziness of the past couple of days I failed to give them their actual card. Tonight Ethan came to hug me good night and with a sad voice said "mommy did you get me a Valentine?" Ooops! Mommy status was restored when he opened his card and there was ONE DOLLAR! I was declared once again best mommy ever! :)

Continue to pray for protection of Sam's lungs and kidneys since this is "heavy duty" chemo week. That his WBC doesn't get any lower. Also these "hospital" weeks are hard on all of us. We miss Sam and he misses us.
