Sam had pretty good night last night. He did experience some nausea but the meds helped with that and sleep. I was able to go see him for a bit before I had to go to work this morning. He was up and showered! The nurse was starting his chemo when I left. He will be going down to the OR today to get his portacath.
Things I'm thankful for: Our assistant pastor who hung out with us most of the morning yesterday and came back to check on us last night. Good friends who came by yesterday and brought us food and helped Sam get his mind off things. My mom who kept the kiddos yesterday so I could spend most of the day with Sam. My sweet friend who is an OR nurse and will be watching after Sam since I'm working today. Also I went to high school with his chemo nurse and she promised me she would take good care of him. The LORD'S protection this morning because I was sitting stopped to make a turn and the car behind me got rear-ended. Blessed I was far away enough my car wasn't involved especially since I had Nora with me. For another friend who is going to stay with my kids this evening so I can go back to the hospital. All of our friends and family who are covering us in prayer. SO many things to be thankful for!
I was given these verses yesterday by a dear friend:
Isaiah 43:1c,2,3a, 4, 5a
1c “Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the LORD, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; 4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give men in exchange for you,
and people in exchange for your life.
5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
